If you are serious about learning piano or flute, then this is the right place for you!
Is there any registration fee?
Well, it's a sort of a registration fee-deposit, that you get back... if we receive in advance a 4 weeks notice that the student decides not to continue lessons for whatever reason, the fee will be returned to you in full, this is a way to let us know as far in advanced as possible to schedule other students that might want a particular time slot.
Do you provide the music-lesson books?
You are responsible for the books used for the lessons. However we will let you know which books and where to buy them. Occasionally, we have teaching materials/books already in stock that you can purchase from us.
How do I pay?
We bill the student/parent either once every 4 week increments ( cash payment) or 3 months in advance (post-dated cheques), whichever is most convenient. Currently, we accept cash or cheque for lessons.
How To Register At The School?
In order to start lessons, first, the registration deposit and lesson fee is paid, then a lesson time will be given (at a convenient time for either the parent or student).
Our School Policy
The following policy is a list of guidelines that we hope will clarify any questions you might have.
All Lessons are given at the school
At this time, we do not go to the student’s home. All teaching is done at the school.
Registration Deposit
A one time registration deposit of $50 is payable at the time of registration. However, if the Parent or Student gives the school 4 weeks advanced notice of withdrawal, the deposit will be fully returned.
Billing
It is expected of every student to pay their lesson fee on time by the due date listed on their Billing Statement. Please note that there will be an additional 5% charge for late payments and an additional $25.00 charge for dishonored cheques.
Lesson Cancellations
Toronto Music Academy must be notified at least 24 hours in advance if the student is unable to attend their scheduled lesson time. If notice is not given, the Student will have to forfeit their lesson fee for that day, and a makeup lesson will not be given.
Withdrawals
If the Student should decide not to continue lessons for whatever reason, a 4 week advanced notice to Toronto Music Academy Of Canada should be given either in writing or in person. This is requested for as a courtesy because of rearranging teachers’ schedules.
Lesson Attendance
It is expected of every Student to come and be on time for every lesson. This is meant to foster a sense of discipline and encourage consistency so that the Student learns well and is able to develop the skills necessary to realize their full potential.
Makeup Lessons
Only 2 makeup lessons will be given for the year. We understand that from time to time emergencies do happen and that the student is unable to attend their lesson. However, because of our teachers’ busy schedules, we have to draw the line somewhere. We think that this is a fair policy to the Parents and Students.
