If you are serious about learning piano or flute, then this is the right place for you!
It is with deepest sadness that our long time friend and colleague for more than 14 years, Dr. Izabella Budai passed away from cancer this past Sunday, September 13, 2020, in Romania. Izabella was awarded her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Flute Performance in 2014 from the University of Toronto where she won several grants in support of her research. Her doctoral dissertation won the National Flute Association’s 2014 research competition. She had appeared extensively in solo, orchestral and chamber music settings. She was the founding member of Duo Agilis and Flautas del Fuego. In addition to her regular chamber music seasons in Toronto, Izabella had performed recitals in Canada, Hungary, Italy and the US.
Dr. Budai was a remarkable teacher and pedagog of the highest order and will be sorely missed by us and her voluminous numbers of students. The Toronto Music Academy of Canada is extremely proud of having Izabella as our faculty member and she will be remembered forever. We wish her rest and peace. We love you Izabella....
Toronto Music Academy of Canada was founded in 2000 by pianists Yun He Lee and John Shillingberg. They also formed the Lee-Shillingberg Piano Duo in 1994, giving various concerts in Korea, U.S.A. and Canada.
Presently, we are a small piano music studio in North York that focuses on students who wish to learn piano of all ages and backgrounds, and since we are the owners and piano teachers of the studio, you don't have to worry about contract teachers who usually come and go at many music schools, so you can expect to have lessons that are consistent and uninterupted. We also provide flute lessons as well.
Even though we strictly teach baroque, classical, romantic and modern styles, we do so in a conservatory like experience.
Not only are lessons taught, but music
theory is an integral part of the lesson as well.
We would like to set-up a program plan for you that meets your needs with extra individual care. Most of our students have been studying with us for many years and some of them have even gone on to studying at major music conservatories in the U.S.A., Canada and Europe.
The following lessons and courses are offered for Private teaching (one on one, not group).
Basic/Intermediate/Advanced Music Theory Lessons
School Recitals— These are given annually. All students are highly encouraged to attend.
